Side by Side Club Volunteer

Saffron Walden Mencap Society is dedicated to improving the lives of local adults with learning disabilities by offering fun, friendship, and inclusion at a variety of clubs, events and outings. Our Side by Side volunteers will be able to commit to attending a weekly social club held at the Salvation Army Hall in Saffron Walden every Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Every week is different at the club but it is always fun! Working with the club leader and deputy, you might be helping a member to spot numbers on a bingo card one week, helping to serve drinks in the break, or having fun with your team the next week during a game of  ‘play your cards right’.

As a charity dedicated to equality, diversity and inclusion, age, lack of formal qualifications or disabilities will not exclude anyone from suitability for this volunteering role. No previous experience in the field is required - but you must be willing to learn and complete our induction process (with support if required).

All volunteers must have an enhanced DBS certificate which will be organised by our charity at no cost to you.
