We’ve had a lovely few weeks at the allotment, meeting on the new decking for a chat and catch-up before Lisa gives us a choice of jobs to be done on the plot. Everything from planting new seeds to keep us in greens for autumn, watering, feeding and nurturing tomato plants, and lots and lots of harvesting! It’s wonderful walking around the plot to see the results of all of the work our GrowAbility group has done to contribute to the other groups who spend time at Dig-It. It’s a very special community and Mencap are so pleased to be part of it - we hope you saw Willow at GrowAbility in the Walden Local this week? We all take something home, lettuce, tomatoes, chillis, potatoes, broccoli, carrots, cucumber, courgettes, kale and cauliflower- we also have every herb we could need for cooking! After a fab broccoli harvest, a naughty butterfly has snuck in and we found lots of greedy caterpillars on the leaves. Luckily we got to the broccoli before they did! Just look at our photos to see what a happy place it is - we hope you like them!
